We now have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Plumber to join our Essex based NHS repairs and maintenance team in Epping. You will join our highly regarded repairs team to provide reactive, planned and preventative maintenance.

Job Purpose

Based at St Margaret's Community Hospital in Epping this is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Plumber to join our highly regarded Maintenance team. As part of this varied role you will work as part of a small team to provide planned, preventative and responsive repairs to the buildings fabric, plant, equipment and alarm systems.

 

As part of this role you will be providing repairs on a planned and reactive basis with a particular emphasis on plumbing and some mechanical works. You will however have the opportunity be involved in many aspects of reactive works and planned preventative maintenance (PPM's). Works could include plantroom duties, changing pumps, carrying out repairs to pipework, sentinel checks through to water temperature checks, repairs to the fabric of the building and much more. 

 

Normal working hours are 8am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. You will also have the opportunity to participate in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs).

Experience Required

Previous relevant experience in the maintenance of buildings is essential, ideally within the NHS (or for a maintenance contractor providing services to the NHS). Alternatively, you will have worked for a maintenance contractor providing a planned/reactive maintenance service in a commercial setting (perhaps a hotel, school, supermarkets etc).

 

You will have the ability to undertake a wide range of general building skills. This could include: carpentry, plastering, basic plumbing and electrical etc Above all you will have excellent customer service skills and be passionate about providing high quality repairs. A full UK driving license is required.
