    We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our South West based NHS Maintenance Healthcare team in Bristol, which delivers a first-class repairs service in partnership with an NHS Trust. You will join our highly regarded repairs team to provide reactive, planned and preventative maintenance.

    Job Purpose

    As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for the maintenance of a number of busy hospital/healthcare sites. Sites include the prestigious Blackberry Hill Hospital and Callington Road Hospital in Bristol and three sites in Weston Super Mare. You will work as part of a highly skilled maintenance team (consisting of plumbing, mechanical and multi-skilled maintenance engineers). The works involve providing repairs on a reactive basis to include changing of light fixtures/light bulbs, carpentry, replacing door handles and locks, painting and decorating and some basic plumbing (changing taps, washers). general wear and tear maintenance (filling of holes/retouching, light plastering).

     

    In addition to reactive repairs, there will also be some planned maintenance activities such as carrying out regular operational checks/PPM's (weekly fire alarm testing, temperature checking, and emergency lighting checks), planned upgrade works, refurbishment as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure a safe environment for service users. You will work in a live secure healthcare environment and as such its important that proper protocols are followed at all times to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for staff and service users.

     

    Normal working hours are 8am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. There is also the opportunity to participate in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs)

     

    You will work in a live healthcare environment and as such, you will play an important role in ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for staff and service users. This is an exciting and varied role with an excellent opportunity to develop and grow within our highly regarded team.

     

    This is a mobile opportunity and you will be provided with a company van and fuel card.

    Experience Required

    Previous relevant experience in the maintenance of buildings is essential, ideally within the NHS. This experience might have been gained working directly for the NHS, or a maintenance contractor providing services within the NHS. We will also consider candidates with experience of maintaining commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have the ability to undertake carpentry/joinery, ironmongery (replacing door handles, locks etc) and basic plumbing works. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be passionate about providing high quality repairs.
