We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join Rydon Maintenance as part of our Lymington Hospital contract. Rydon is responsible for the ongoing responsive/reactive maintenance services at Lymington Hospital to ensure that this busy healthcare environment is running to the standards expected by our client and service users.
Rydon is well-known for providing quality solutions within the new build and maintenance sectors. At Rydon, our aim is to improve local communities for the benefit of current and future generations.
We build and maintain homes, schools and hospitals as well as Extra Care facilities, student accommodation, community leisure centres and more. And by doing so we are delivering award-winning, quality facilities built for local communities with a commitment from people who are passionate about what they do.
Due to an exciting period of growth and development we now have a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance engineer to join our team in Lymington New Forest Hospital. The role is varied and will see the successful candidate undertake both responsive/reactive repairs to ensure that the hospital is able to provide quality care to its service users, as well as planned maintenance.
A typical day starts at 8am, where you will meet with your team to discuss planned maintenance and any already logged responsive repairs that need to be undertaken during the day. From here, further repairs and calls will be allocated to you by our fully trained (locally based) team to ensure that the hospital repairs are undertaken in priority order. It can be challenging to juggle different conflicting priorities, but our business runs on teamwork so you can be sure that your colleagues will be around to help ensure that you are well supported.
Typical repairs that you will undertake include maintenance to mechanical plant, pumps, air handling units and other mechanical/heating equipment. Depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate, there may be some electrical work involved such as emergency light testing, fire alarm testing etc. In essence, if you have the skills and experience, we are able to provide significant variety in the work you undertake; ensuring that no two days are the same.
Previous relevant experience in the maintenance of buildings is essential, including a working knowledge of heating systems, boilers, direct fired gas hot water systems, motorised valves and controls. It would be advantageous for this experience to have been gained in a healthcare environment, but this is by no means essential. Candidates with experience gained maintaining mechanical/heating equipment within another commercial environment (such as retail, hotels or other related industries) will also be considered.
The successful candidate will have:
If you have the above experience, we would strongly encourage you to apply.
