We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Safety, Health and Environment Advisor to join our SHE Department. This is a newly created role aimed at providing additional support to our growing Maintenance Business which focusses on providing planned, responsive and preventative maintenance to residential/housing, education and healthcare facilities.
As SHE Advisor, you will be working closely with our business managers to raise the awareness, standards and provide audits for maintenance operatives and supervisors to ensure the ongoing high safety standards across this business. The role will also provide safety, health and environment advice, coaching and guidance to our refurbishment teams. This challenging but rewarding role will involve working across a multi-disciplined and highly effective workforce comprising a range of highly skilled tradespeople (including electrical, carpentry, mechanical, plumbing and much more).
This role also takes responsibility for ensuring safety in the operation of our commercial fleet (which is largely van based, working in conjunction with our fleet department).
Rydon's approach to Health and Safety is delivered through a behavioural safety programme. This is aimed at ensuring that the correct understanding of behaviours is considered to ensure the proper safety of our workforce.
This is an exciting role for a candidate passionate about health, safety and environment which also provides excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to continue to grow and develop.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Senior SHE Advisor or Business Partner with a Maintenance company. You should have a good understanding of residential maintenance and/or maintenance in a healthcare setting and hold a suitable qualification such as IOSH, CMIOSH or TechIOSH, for example. You will also hold a full, clean driving license as this role requires some travel. It would also be advantageous for the successful candidate to have strong IT skills (particularly MS Office products such as Word and Excel).
