We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Operative (Plumber) to join our NHS Maintenance team in Dartford. Rydon is a successful construction, development, maintenance, investment and management group operating throughout England, predominantly in London and the southern counties. Rydon Maintenance is an expanding division of the Rydon Group and is successfully providing facilities management services to a variety of clients, predominantly within the healthcare and housing association sectors.
Rydon Maintenance are now seeking an experienced Plumber to join our NHS Healthcare team based in the South East of England to provide planned, preventative and reactive maintenance services. As part of this exciting role, you will provide repairs within the Trust covering a patch which includes Dartford, Bromley, Bexley, Rainham and other local NHS sites. The emphasis will be on plumbing infrastructure and we have specialist gas and heating engineers with whom the successful candidate with work alongside to provide a seamless service.
As part of the role you will be maintaining and making repairs to the building plumbing systems (including fresh and waste water pipework and hot and cold water systems) You will have a good understanding of mechanical and heating/chilled systems and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks, assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, replace defective washers and replace or mend broken pipes.
Normal working hours are 8am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. There is also the opportunity to participate in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs).
In addition to the above, some general basic building 'multi-skilled' FM maintenance may be required from time to time. There will also be planned maintenance activities such as planned upgrade works, refurbishment as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure a safe environment for service users.
You will work as part of live healthcare environment and as such, will play an active role in ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for staff, patients and service users. This is an exciting and varied role with an excellent opportunity to develop and grow within our highly regarding healthcare maintenance team.
You will be provided with a company van, fuel card and excellent training/development as part of this varied and genuinely diverse opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of plumbing repairs and/or planned maintenance. This will have ideally been gained within an NHS environment, though candidates with experience gained maintaining commercial properties (such as office buildings, supermarkets, hotels etc) will also be considered. You will also ideally hold a relevant plumbing qualification.
