We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Operative (Mechanical Engineer) to join our NHS Maintenance team in Bristol. Rydon is a successful construction, development, maintenance, investment and management group operating throughout England, predominantly in London and the southern counties.
Rydon Maintenance is an expanding division of the Rydon Group which within our healthcare division provides hard facilities management services to a range of Trusts across the NHS on a unique partnering agreement basis.
Rydon is now seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our maintenance team in Bristol to work on a number of our healthcare sites. The successful candidate will take responsibility for providing a first class building maintenance service, covering reactive and planned maintenance work. As part of the role you will carry out maintenance on all mechanical plant to include AHU`s, Spilt Units, Fan Coils Units, Actuators, Compressors.
Sites include the prestigious Blackberry Hill Hospital in Bristol, Callington Road Hospital, three sites in Weston-super-mare, Glastonbury and West Bromwich. The role therefore presents an interesting and diverse challenge.
You will work as part of a highly skilled maintenance team (consisting of plumbing, electrical and multi skilled maintenance operatives) .This team are responsible for ensuring that jobs completed meet the desired quality and customer service standards. You will be responsible for covering reactive and planned maintenance to ensure that these busy hospital environments are operational at all times.
Normal working hours are 8am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. There is also the opportunity to participate in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs).
You will be provided with a company van, fuel card and excellent training/development as part of this varied and genuinely diverse opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience gained as a Mechanical Engineer. This experience will ideally have been gained working within the NHS (or for a maintenance contractor providing services to the NHS) however other commercial experience will also be considered (ie. commercial offices, hotels, schools). Ideally you will also hold an NVQ in mechanical engineering.
