Rydon Maintenance has an exciting opportunity for an apprentice grounds operative (gardener), to join our highly regarded Healthcare maintenance team in Bristol. Rydon is a successful construction, development, maintenance, investment and management group operating throughout England, predominantly in London and the southern counties.
Rydon Maintenance is an expanding division of the Rydon Group and is successfully providing planned, reactive and responsive repairs services to a variety of clients within the NHS.
We are currently seeking an apprentice gardener to join our Bristol based landscaping team. This team is responsible for landscaping services on behalf of our NHS Clients. This role includes both hard and soft landscaping and full training will be provided.
A typical day will involve working as part of a team and undertaking the key tasks from a two weekly programme. This will involve visiting a range of set sites to undertake the planned workds. The initial part of the day will be about meeting with the team, gathering tools, undertaking equipment checks, discussing and agreeing any health and safety checks that should be in place before work can commence. From there, you will work as part of a small team, learning and undertaking works and routine grounds tasks which could include:
Full training will be provided, as well as a fully funded learning programme (apprenticeship) which will involve shadowing, on site coaching and mentoring as well as (where appropriate) external training delivered through our partnership with a local college.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual, who is prepared the learn new skills. The role involves some heavy lifting and as such, the preferred candidate will be prepared to undertake tasks in all weather conditions. The preferred candidate must also be keen to undertake an NVQ level 2 qualification as part of this role. In return, Rydon will invest heavily in your development with a view to helping you develop a rewarding career in grounds keeping.
