We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Operative (Electrician) to join our NHS Maintenance team in Sidcup. Rydon is a successful construction, development, maintenance, investment and management group operating throughout England, predominantly in London and the southern counties.


Rydon Maintenance is an expanding division of the Rydon Group which within our healthcare division provides hard facilities management services to a range of Trusts across the NHS on a unique partnering agreement basis.

Job Purpose

We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Operative (Electrician) to join our NHS Maintenance team, which delivers a first-class repairs service in partnership with a large Acute NHS Trust based in Sidcup.


You will work as part of a highly skilled maintenance team (consisting of both mechanical and electrical maintenance operatives) .This team are responsible for ensuring that jobs completed meet the desired quality and customer service standards. You will be responsible for planned, preventative and responsive maintenance to ensure that this busy hospital environment is operational at all times. The works involve primarily LV (Low Voltage) commercial electricals, although for candidates qualified to do so, there will be some HV works (high voltage).


Normal working hours are 8am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday. There is also the opportunity to participate in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs). The on-call rota currently operates to a 1 week in 5 basis, although some flexibility will be required depending on work demands.

Experience Required

The preferred candidate will have previous experience gained as a maintenance operative/electrician. The ideal candidate will have gained this experience in an NHS hospital environment, though candidates with strong commercial electrical experience will also be considered (ie experience gained in commercial offices, hotels, education etc). The preferred candidate will hold an LV (low voltage) commercial qualification. It is highly desirable for the preferred candidate to also hold a HV (high voltage) qualification.

Position Subject To
