Red Rose Corporate Services LLP (RRCS) is a joint venture partnership between Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust and Ryhurst (a division of Rydon Group) that delivers all property services on behalf of Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust. Ryhurst operates only in the health sector and specialises in the management and development of health care property in the acute and mental health sectors. It works in partnership with the NHS, using the combined skills and experience of both partners to deliver the property and associated services needed to support clinical services. Job Purpose

As Red Rose continues to deliver exceptional value to Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust through its SEP (Strategic Estates Partnership), we are now seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager to help us to further develop and deepen relationships within the NHS. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a superb track record of reducing the cost of running the Trust estate and delivering exceptional quality estates solutions for Trust stakeholders and service users (including capital projects, re-procurements of services, space utilisation, land acquisition/disposal and much more). The role of the Business Development Manager will be to lead all business development activity for RRCS to help us meet and exceed our forecasted targets. You will be responsible for understanding key NHS market dynamics (and strategic/policy trends) to ensure that RRCS are ideally placed to be identified as partner of choice for estates led projects (which might include space utilisation, capital projects, minor works, procurements and much more). 


Using your understanding of the NHS market, legislative, policy and key Client information, you will work closely with our subject matter experts to develop our market strategy (including key areas of opportunity and specific targets). You will work closely with the Property Services Director to refine the RRCS proposition to ensure we are competitively placed and able to respond and meet the ever changing needs of our clients. As part of this process, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying cost effective routes to market and this might include networking, participation in membership forums, hospitality or introduction through third party mediums and other partners. You will create a target client list, and initiate discussions with these targets as part of an activity pipeline. These dialogues may lead directly to new business, but may equally form part of your larger targeting strategy to position RRCS for future business. 


In addition to the above duties, the Business Development Manager will actively attend bidder information events, and recommend participation as appropriate in potential bid opportunities. When required, you will use your analytical skills to interpret data, formulate bid teams (using both internal and external support) to plan and deliver high quality bid submissions that meet the needs of our clients. 

Experience Required

The ideal candidate will demonstrate an impressive track record as a business development manager (or ready to step up into a business development manager role). It is essential for the preferred candidate to be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge of the healthcare (NHS) market. Your experience may have been gained working directly within the NHS, or more likely, a private sector company intersecting with the NHS. Experience gained within property and/or facilities management is highly desirable. You will also demonstrate superb interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as be a confident presenter.
