We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced M&E Supervisor to join our NHS Maintenance team in Sidcup. Rydon is a successful construction, development, maintenance, investment and management group operating throughout England, predominantly in London and the southern counties.
Rydon Maintenance is an expanding division of the Rydon Group which within our healthcare division provides hard facilities management services to a range of Trusts across the NHS on a unique partnering agreement basis.
We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced M&E Supervisor to join our NHS Maintenance team, which delivers a first-class repairs service in partnership with a large Acute NHS Trust based in Sidcup.
You will manage a small team of mechanical and electrical maintenance operatives, ensuring that jobs completed meet the desired quality and customer service standards. You will be responsible for reporting and client communications and will ensure the effective running of the responsive, planned and lifecycle maintenance programmes. In addition, where in house delivery is not possible, you will be responsible for ensuring best value is delivered by nominated sub-contractors. You will work with the contract manager to deliver ongoing improvements and recommendations to the long term contract strategy to maximise productivity and quality whilst ensuring cost efficiencies are achieved.
The successful applicant will take responsibility for the operational delivery of planned, reactive and cyclical maintenance programmes in a working/live acute hospital environment. The role is also responsible for managing and improving procedures to deliver the short, medium and long term plans for the this contract against KPI’s and SLA’s set.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent previous experience as a maintenance supervisor, preferably within a healthcare (NHS) acute setting (though candidates with experience in commercial settings such as supermarkets, hotels etc will also be considered). You will have a good understanding of mechanical and electrical repairs and will ideally hold an HNC (or equivalent) within a mechanical and electrical discipline. It would be highly desirable for the preferred candidate to have a range of HTM (Hospital Technical Memorandum) qualifications including (but not limited to) HV, High Voltage. You also should have recent team management experience, excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate intermediate IT skills (such as the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel).
The role operates in a live acute/hospital environment, so this represents a rare opportunity to actively ensure the safety and ongoing operation of this environment.
